Three Aesthetics. One Standard. Discover How Rooted Approaches Design.

One of the most important questions we get isn't about square footage, or performance or delivery logistics. It's simpler than that.

What does it look like?

It's the right question. A home isn't just shelter,  it's the surroundings you wake up looking at, the space your guests walk into, the structure that either fits the land or doesn't. We take that seriously, which is why we didn't offer one aesthetic and just call it ‘modern contemporary’. Working alongside a very talented home and interior designer, we developed three. Each one is a complete design system: exterior materials, interior finishes, colour palette, and a vibe that's been thought through from the roofline to the millwork.

Tidefall: Dark, coastal, sculptural modern.

Tidefall is for people who want their cabin to disappear into the landscape. Deep black siding and roofing, smoky grey decking, matte black fixtures: architecture that recedes so the forest, mountains and views can stand out. Inside, pale wood ceilings contrast against charcoal millwork. The effect is refined and dramatic without being cold.

Pineglen: Warm, alpine, textural.

If Tidefall is the cabin that recedes, Pineglen is the one that embraces. Rich cedar siding, warm wood interiors, soft stone surfaces, the Pineglen aesthetic draws from the tradition of alpine timber architecture and updates it with clean contemporary lines. No fussiness, no unnecessary embellishments. Just the warmth that only high-quality natural materials produce, built with style and precision.

Saltwind: Airy, coastal, quietly sophisticated.

Saltwind is lighter. Inspired by weathered driftwood and pale coastal skies, it pairs softly toned wood siding with a light zinc roof and oyster-toned interiors. Bright, spacious, and serene, the kind of home that feels open even when the weather closes in. If you're near water, Saltwind belongs there.

Why this matters

A lot of prefab companies offer finishes the way car dealerships offer options: packages designed around what's cheapest to produce. We started from the other direction: three fully realised aesthetic directions, developed with interior design intent from the start, and then figured out how to deliver each one without compromise.

The result is that choosing a Rooted home doesn't feel like configuring a spreadsheet. It feels like choosing a home.

Each aesthetic works across all three of our models, and all configurations.

We'll soon be arranging consultations for FW26 builds. If you know your land, and you have a sense of which aesthetic is yours, that's a good starting point for a conversation.
